February 15 - President's Day Celebration
The Cornelia Greene chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution performs its annual wreath-laying ceremony at the Washington statue. The ceremony begins at 10:45 a.m. Come to the pre-ceremony reception at the Park House at 9:30 a.m., hosted by the Conservancy at the Park House for light refreshments and convivial cheer!

December 13 - Lafayette Square Holiday Parlor Tour
Tour ten beautiful Victorian era houses all dressed up in their Holiday finery at this annual event in the Lafayette Square neighborhood. You can also take a carriage ride in the park and pick up a box or three of Lafayette Square Holiday cards to share your joy with your friends! Tickets available at the Park House (Lafayette & Mississippi.) See www.lafayettesquare.org for more details or to buy your tickets in advance.

November 15 - Annual LPC Membership Meeting
The annual membership meeting of the Lafayette Park Conservancy will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Boathouse in Lafayette Park. A short business meeting will include updates on all Conservancy projects and election of directors. The business meeting will be followed by refreshments and some exciting activities, highlighted by a cannon that fires tennis balls, to celebrate the restoration of the first of the three Revolutionary War ship's guns presented to the park in 1897.

October 31 - Boat House Boogey!
This exciting Halloween costume party, put on by the Lafayette Park Conservancy, will raise money toward keeping the weather out of the Boat House, built in 1908, by repairing the leaking roof by restoring its original clay tiles. Gumbohead will provide the music from 9-Midnight, after all the little ones are safely abed. Tarot readings, photos and prizes for best costumes and more. Don't miss it!

Bring the entire family and come at 6 PM for the USO festivities! Movie will start approximately at dusk.
September 12 - Summer Concert In The Park
Come join us for the last music concert of the season! 6-9 PM.
September 7 - Tour of Missouri Bicycle Race
The first leg of this internationally renowned stage race will take place in St. Louis. Ten laps of 7.5 miles each, all going right by Lafayette Park!
September 4 - Gateway Cup Criterium Bicycle Races
Come join us for the last music concert of the season! 6-9 PM.

February 16 - President's Day Celebration
The Cornelia Greene chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution performs its annual wreath-laying ceremony at the Washington statue. Some of George's comrades-in-arms are usually on hand in their Continental Army finery. A pre-ceremony reception will be held in the Park House, hosted by the Lafayette Park Conservancy. It's always chilly but there's plenty of good cheer to warm you up!

Tour beautiful Victorian era houses all dressed up for the Christmas season at this annual neighborhood event. You can also take a carriage ride in the park or pick up a bottle or two of Lafayette Square commemorative red or white wine for that special Xmas present! Bring the entire family to this "greatest of all Saturday serials" on the big screen. Snakes? Who said snakes? There will be activities for all before the movie, so come early!

June 18 - Gallery Talk: Works of Harriet Hosmer
This will be given at the Kemper Art Museum on Washington University's campus by Erin Sutherland, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Art History and Archaeology. Starts at 6 PM.
June 13-14 - Symposium: Life & Works of Harriet Goodhue Hosmer

Renowned sculptor Harriet Hosmer created the statue of  Missouri's first senator, Thomas Hart Benton, that has graced Lafayette Park since 1868. This international celebration of her life and work will take place Friday evening and Saturday morning on the campuses of the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Washington University. June 14 - Benton Statue Celebration
Commemorate Flag Day and the 140th anniversary of the original dedication of the Benton Monument in Lafayette Park. Enjoy patriotic music, food, speeches and carriage rides. The festivities begin at 4:30 PM. Renowned sculptor Gail Cassilly will also open her Lafayette Square studio for tours from 3:00-6:00 PM, at 1817 Hickory.
June 14 - "Hats Off To Hattie" Gala
This elegant evening, complete with dinner served under decorated tents on Benton Place, fine art and musicians, house and garden tours and a charity auction will raise funds to help restore the Benton monument. June 7-8 - Lafayette Square House & Garden Tour
The Lafayette Square neighborhood opens its homes and gardens to thousands of delighted visitors, who can also enjoy St. Louis Perfectos vintage baseball, antique sales, wine tasting and more. May 3 - Vintage Baseball: Saint Louis Perfectos vs. New Baden Juniors
Enjoy baseball played by 1860s rules. You can cheer for the St. Louis Perfectos at their home field in the NW corner of Lafayette Park. Play begins at 1 PM.
May 2 to July 21 - Harriet Hosmer Exhibition
The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum showcases Hosmer works from the Washington University and St. Louis Art Museum collections.

April 26 - Dining Around The Square
The Lafayette Square neighborhood invites you to participate in its fabulous "almost annual" progressive dinner. Money raised will be used to support the restoration of the historic Music Stand in the park. This event sells out quickly, so reserve your spot now. (Click heading for more information.)
April 12 - Operation Brightside "Blitz" Day
Come join us for a gardening day and work some of those winter kinks out of your body! We'll be in the park planting roses and mulching from 9 AM 'til noon. Meet at the Washington Statue if you'd like to get in on the fun.
